LPN Weekend Position at Blount Memorial Hospital

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate LPN to join our team on weekends. As a LPN, you will provide direct nursing care to assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the LPN as defined by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
  • Assume responsibilities for direct nursing care of assigned patients in patient care area.
  • Administer routine medications and treatments to patients, adhering to infection control procedures and safety precautions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team, physicians, and administrators to ensure effective patient care.
  • Teach patients and families in accordance with the nursing care plan.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Competent in BLS and/or other specialized life support requirements designated by work area or completion upon hire.
  • Successful completion of Pharmacology proficiency exam and complete Pharmacology course for LPN under the direction of Blount Memorial Hospital Pharmacy faculty.
  • Must be competent in IV therapy validated by examination and clinical competency.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and establish effective working relationships.
  • Ability to use sensory and cognitive functions to process and prioritize information, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn new software programs.
