Senior Highway Design Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Highway Design Engineer to join our team in Cleveland. As a key member of our Transportation Practice, you will be responsible for leading the design of transportation projects for public sector clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design of transportation projects, including plans production, technical writing, quality control, and support in business development and proposal activities.
  • Design and lead the design of a vast array of roadway improvement projects, including horizontal and vertical geometry, drainage design, maintenance of traffic, erosion control, signing and marking, plans production, design documentation, technical writing, quantities calculations, and other applicable design and project documentation.
  • Oversee, train, and mentor junior roadway design staff in design and plan production tasks.
  • Coordinate and communicate within the project design team, including client contacts, internal staff, and subconsultant team members.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of transportation design experience with an emphasis on highway design.
  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering.
  • A current PE License in the state of Ohio or ability to obtain within the next six months.
  • Extensive knowledge of the roadway design process, including the development of project geometry, drainage design, maintenance of traffic, erosion control design, signing and marking, quantities calculations, and other essential project and plan production activities and processes.
  • Proficiency with MicroStation and GeoPak. OpenRoads experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) standards.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative team-building skills.
