Job Summary:
The Philadelphia Corporation for Aging is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Coordinator to join our team at the Firehouse Active Adult Center. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for developing, planning, and coordinating recreation and educational programs for center participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an exciting schedule of day-to-day recreation and educational programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our participants.
- Work with the program planning committee and the center advisory council to develop, implement, and evaluate new programs that incorporate consumer feedback and meet the needs of our community.
- Collaborate with the center director to establish annual program goals and objectives that align with the organization's mission and vision.
- Ensure that all program activities are properly recorded in our client management system and that program equipment and supplies are clean and well-maintained.
- Identify and coordinate with other organizations and community resources to enhance center programs and services.
- Plan special events, such as tours, trips, camping, arts & crafts, parties, celebrations, and discussion groups that promote socialization, learning, and community engagement.
- Oversee registration and fee collection processes associated with center activities and ensure that all necessary documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Assist with center marketing and outreach efforts to promote our programs and services to the community.
- Provide supervision and support to program aides and volunteers as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the center director.
Performance Expectations:
- Perform all duties in a courteous and professional manner when interacting with center participants, staff, and community partners.
- Demonstrate proficiency in communication and organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Develop job skills as needed to adapt to change and meet the evolving needs of our organization and community.
- Provide excellent customer service to all center customers, including senior community center participants, social service professionals, education and recreation professionals, local community organizations, and staff.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position that requires a high level of energy, creativity, and enthusiasm. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Salary: $43,945.41
