ManTech is currently seeking an experienced and customer-focused High-Level System Operations Expert to join our team at The Pentagon. This challenging position offers the chance to develop your skills and grow professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Performing technical assessments and acceptability checks of software and hardware.
  • Implementing system enhancements in production environments after thorough documentation and testing.
  • Processing, monitoring, controlling, and executing batch jobs for interfaces.
  • Representing customers on various technical review and inspection teams.
  • Collecting, summarizing, and providing information for use by others.
  • Owning problems and requests assigned, focusing on managing and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Responding to database-related alerts and escalations promptly.
  • Collaborating with database engineering to find strategic solutions to recurring problems.
  • Maintaining database backups to meet business Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
  • Communicating with technology customers regarding the status of their requests.
  • Providing Tier 1 SAFES Domain Support.
  • Ensuring server environments are current and backed up through coordination with the Network Operations Center (NOC).
  • Developing and maintaining operational procedures for system operations, product installations, and explanations of system logic.
  • Executing Blackbook System Administration activities, including supporting system installs, participating in decisions for future hardware and software purchases, and assisting with technical risk assessments of servers/network devices/security appliances.

Basic Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience working in tier 1/2 computer help desk roles.
  • DoD 8570, Information Assurance Technical, Level II certification.
  • Knowledge of automated trouble ticket systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, replication issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.
  • Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts.
  • Experience tracking and resolving database-related incidents and requests.
  • A high degree of originality, creativity, initiative requiring minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel within the organizational geographic Area of Responsibility (AOR).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • The ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners.
