Vertis Therapy is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team in a PRN capacity at our Assisted Living Facility in Union City, IN.

About the Role

The Occupational Therapy Assistant will work under the clinical supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality patient care. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing occupational therapy treatments to patients according to treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Assisting the Occupational Therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
  • Observing, recording, and reporting patient conditions, reactions, and responses related to treatment.
  • Maintaining daily records of treatments and documenting progress notes on patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Assisting with the care of the Occupational Therapy department and equipment.
  • Participating in in-service programs and other meetings as assigned by the Occupational Therapist.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate of Science degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • A current license or eligibility to obtain a license in the state of practice.
  • Preferably, a minimum of one year of rehabilitation experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population.
  • Active membership in the state and national American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adequate computer skills to complete required job duties and computerized documentation.
