Occupational Therapy Assistant Job Description

Vertis Therapy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team in a PRN capacity at our new Assisted Living Facility in Union City, IN.

We are a therapist-owned and operated company that prioritizes patient-centered care and is committed to providing exceptional services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver occupational therapy treatments to patients according to treatment plans developed by the occupational therapist.
  • Assist the occupational therapist in performing tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
  • Observe, record, and report patient conditions, reactions, and responses related to treatment.
  • Maintain daily records of treatments and document progress notes on patients as directed by the occupational therapist.
  • Collaborate with the occupational therapist in consulting with family members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the occupational therapy department and equipment.
  • Participate in in-service programs and other meetings as assigned by the occupational therapist.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain clinical currency.
Requirements:
  • Associate of Science degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Current license or eligibility for licensure in the state of practice.
  • Prefer one year of rehabilitation experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population as this facility.
  • Active membership in the state and national American Occupational Therapy Association is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adequate computer skills to complete required job duties and computerized documentation.
  • Ability to understand and follow the directions of the occupational therapist and the policies and procedures of Vertis Therapy.
