About You

As an Animal Care Technician, you will significantly impact the lives of pets by delivering comprehensive care throughout their health journey. Your essential responsibilities will include hands-on care, facilitating outpatient treatments, conducting laboratory tests, assisting in surgical procedures, and providing support services such as patient admissions and discharges.

Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Preferred veterinary technician licensure or 2-3 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant, depending on state regulations.
  • Experience in surgical procedures and anesthesia is essential.
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians in delivering high-quality veterinary care, advocate for animal welfare, and educate pet owners.
  • Support the medical team to enhance productivity and ensure a smooth patient flow.
  • Participate in surgical procedures in accordance with state regulations for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pets' health concerns and provide guidance on available treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records with the assistance of practice management systems.
  • Gather relevant health history and information from clients and keep medical charts updated.
  • Utilize safe restraint techniques, adhere to standard protocols, and maintain clean, organized treatment areas, examination rooms, and laboratories.
  • Be prepared to mentor and support fellow team members.

Compensation is negotiable based on qualifications and experience, with an hourly pay rate starting at $16 - $18. The actual rate offered will consider a variety of factors, including your skills, qualifications, and experience.
