POSITION OVERVIEW

The Knowledge Management Attorney will play a crucial role in supporting the development and enhancement of knowledge management systems within the firm.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree with commendable academic achievements and be licensed to practice law in their respective state.

Experience in privacy law, whether in a law firm or corporate environment, is essential. Candidates should have a comprehensive understanding of both state and federal privacy regulations, including but not limited to CCPA/CPRA, VCDPA, HIPAA, COPPA, BIPA, and GDPR.

Ideal candidates will have a background in drafting and evaluating data processing agreements, privacy policies, and security protocols, along with providing ongoing privacy guidance to in-house legal teams and executives of start-ups.

Experience in knowledge management is preferred, particularly in creating and maintaining templates, models, and other resources. Candidates should also have experience in developing and participating in training and testing for technology-driven tools and initiatives.

Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Candidates should be adept at fostering connections across various practice groups and operational departments, including Marketing, Talent, Library, and Information Technology.

CIPP certification is preferred; candidates not already certified are expected to pursue certification upon joining the firm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in the development and maintenance of knowledge management systems, including organizing meetings and presentations to promote these systems.

Utilize deal and experience data to enhance future transactions.

Ensure that current legal knowledge on privacy counseling and compliance is readily accessible to the firm's attorneys, thereby enhancing the quality and efficiency of legal advice provided to clients.

Contribute to the drafting and maintenance of content for automated documents and processes, collaborating with the Knowledge Management team and document automation specialists.

Write and disseminate legal content on contemporary privacy issues, including regular updates for clients.

Collect and curate the Privacy Group's legal knowledge within the firm's databases, ensuring resources are consistently updated and gaps in knowledge are addressed.

Collaborate with the Head of the Privacy Group to identify opportunities for improving client service and operational efficiency, contributing to best practices and innovation initiatives.

Respond to inquiries from client-facing attorneys with comprehensive and timely information, establishing a reputation as a trusted expert in privacy matters.
