Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience with mechanical or electromechanical design and analysis.
  • Strong first-principles understanding of engineering fundamentals.
  • Proficient and frequent use of hand calculations, finite element analyses (FEA), and computer-aided designs (CAD).
  • Domain knowledge of power component design fundamentals (e.g. motors, inverters, batteries, solar, or energy storage systems).
  • Exposure to high volume production designs with a focus on design for manufacturability.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Solid understanding and application of GD&T.
  • Experience working with PCB designers and exposure to PCB layout.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be willing to travel as needed to Starbase launch facility – Brownsville, TX.
  • Extended hours and weekend work may be required to support critical project and mission milestones.
