Seeking Experienced Oncology Nurse Practitioner

We are a multi-specialty practice group seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join our growing oncology department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in oncology and be licensed to practice in the state of New Jersey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced oncologic nursing assessment and documentation, including history and physicals for complex hematology/oncology adult patients in the outpatient setting.
  • Perform in-patient hospital rounding, including assessments, supportive care, blood components, fluid and electrolyte replacements, and other oncology treatment modalities as prescribed.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic treatments and non-pharmacologic modalities.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's disease-specific needs.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of interventions prescribed.
  • Facilitate patient transition within and between healthcare settings.
  • Provide education to patients, families, and significant others.
  • Act as an information resource to students, healthcare professionals, patients, and the public.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
  • Participate in research and related activities.
  • Work closely with physicians in management of oncologic patient case load.
  • Provide on-call coverage of hematology/oncology practice.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
  • Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification in Oncology.
  • Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Eligible for hospital privileges with a minimum of 1-2 years' experience in the Nurse Practitioner role.
