Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Patient Access Associate 3 to join our team at Inova. As a Patient Access Associate 3, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient service by identifying customer needs and fulfilling customer expectations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Reports safety hazards/violations and takes appropriate action to protect the environment and guests until help arrives – if necessary.
  2. Accepts and provides direct/honest feedback between team members in a non-punishing manner.
  3. Explains insurance benefits and patient liability through the use of appropriate communication methods/styles.
  4. Supports scheduling activities by conducting pre-service activities such as insurance verification/submission.
  5. Gathers information about customer complaints in a courteous and professional manner.
  6. Troubleshoots individual admission issues in collaboration with other departments/staff.
  7. Identifies and communicates payroll authorization and referral requirements.
  8. Delivers an acceptable volume of work with high levels of accuracy.
  9. May perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Experience - 2 years of healthcare patient access experience or 2 years of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle.
  • Education - High School diploma or equivalent.
