Job Summary

MacAllister Machinery Company, Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing equipment in the field, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining company issued vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow strict safety protocols and use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment in the field, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Complete all required reporting for service time, including writing service reports and tracking parts charged and returned.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by understanding customer needs and deadlines, and providing updates on job status.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
  • Collaborate with customers to resolve issues and provide solutions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance work processes and metrics.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent, with technical background provided through a vocational school in diesel equipment repair.
  • 3-5 years of mechanical experience with equipment, preferably with Caterpillar, and strong working knowledge of hydraulics, power train, and electrical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with ability to identify problems and offer valid solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative and self-motivation.
