Job Overview:

The Quality Tech II will be responsible for conducting thorough analyses of various samples including Raw Materials, Intermediates, In-Process, Finished Products, and Stability samples, utilizing established analytical methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to stringent documentation protocols to ensure precise and timely recording of all laboratory activities.
  • Conduct wet chemistry and instrumental analyses.
  • Comply with site Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of safe laboratory practices.
  • Engage in peer reviews of all work conducted.
  • Carry out laboratory investigations as necessary.
Department-Specific Duties:
  • Input data into Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Utilize analytical instruments such as balances, HPLC, GC, KF Titrators, UV spectrophotometers, and pH meters.
  • Ensure readiness and functionality of laboratory instruments.
Qualifications:

A High School Diploma is required; an associate degree in a scientific discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Experience Requirements:
  • Proficient understanding of wet chemistry is essential.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation including GC/LC, UV, and AA is required.
  • Experience in a cGMP environment is advantageous.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite are necessary.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental principles, theories, and concepts in the field.
  • Knowledge of industry practices and standards is beneficial.
  • Experience with chromatography (GC/LC) and spectroscopy is a plus.
Core Competencies:

Strong skills in informing, customer focus, active listening, perseverance, organization, technical proficiency, peer collaboration, and comfort in interactions with higher management.

Organizational Relationships:

This role involves moderate importance interactions with various departments including R&D, Marketing, Production personnel, Engineers, Supervisors, Operators, Logistics, EHS, and DEA. Occasional contact with customers on routine matters may occur.

Working Environment:
  • Approximately 80% of the role involves laboratory exposure to plant products, solvents, and reagents, some of which may be hazardous or potent.
  • Remaining 20% is spent in an office setting.
  • Shifts may range from 8 to 12 hours, with potential requirements for night, weekend, and holiday work based on laboratory needs.
