Position Title: Program Supervisor

Program: Wellness Center - Lompoc

Summary:

The Program Supervisor at the Lompoc Wellness Center is tasked with the trauma-informed oversight and execution of a program aimed at assisting adults with psychiatric challenges in developing and enhancing skills necessary for comfortable community living and employment. This role emphasizes social rehabilitation and requires comprehensive knowledge and expertise in all facets of the program. The Program Supervisor is expected to embody and promote the program's philosophy in all responsibilities undertaken.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the Wellness Center program, including staff, members, interns, transitional employees, and volunteers, providing peer education, social support, skills training, recreational activities, and assistance with independent living.
  2. Develop a monthly calendar of events and activities for program members.
  3. Conduct weekly staff meetings and report significant program and member issues to the Program Manager, collaborating with peers and other TMHA programs.
  4. Supervise program staff, offering guidance and coaching to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
  5. Promote trauma-informed practices across all services and activities.
  6. Recruit, interview, and train part-time staff, interns, and volunteers to enhance program quality.
  7. Manage program supplies and budget allocations effectively.
  8. Facilitate group discussions and activities, ensuring clear communication and support for all participants.
  9. Maintain accurate records of program intakes, referrals, and statistics, adhering to confidentiality standards.
  10. Engage with community members and organizations to advocate for individuals with psychiatric disabilities.

Work Environment:

This position involves moderate physical activity, including the potential for lifting up to 45 lbs and navigating various community settings. The role may encounter intense situations requiring effective management and safety precautions.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess an Associate's Degree and a minimum of six months of experience in a mental health or social service environment, or two years of relevant experience. Lived experience as a consumer or family member of mental health services is highly valued. Bilingual candidates in Spanish are preferred. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
