Job Title: Swim Instructor

Are you passionate about teaching swimming skills and promoting water safety? We are seeking a qualified Swim Instructor to join our team at the City of Lompoc Aquatic Center.

Job Summary:

The Swim Instructor will be responsible for teaching swimming lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels, as well as promoting water safety and awareness throughout the community. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in swimming instruction, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach swimming lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of students
  • Assist with water safety and awareness programs
  • Provide excellent customer service to students and their families
  • Work collaboratively with other aquatic staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants
Requirements:
  • Current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid
  • YMCA Swim Instructor or American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification
  • Ability to lift equipment and assist with emergency situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
Working Conditions:

The Swim Instructor will work in a fast-paced aquatic environment, with frequent exposure to water and potential hazards. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team environment, communicate effectively with students and staff, and maintain a safe and organized workspace.
