Job Summary:

As a Nurse Manager I - Service Unit Non Registered at Kaiser Permanente, you will oversee the operations of one or more units in an outpatient facility. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that staff provides high-quality, accessible, and cost-effective care to members across the continuum, while complying with local, state, and federal regulations. You will develop and maintain budgets and on-going staff development to enhance patient care and services.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of one or more units, ensuring that staff provides high-quality care and services to members.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to establish, implement, and maintain patient care and quality service standards.
  • Act as a patient advocate, resolving patient care issues and ensuring that members receive the best possible care.
  • Design and evaluate processes to improve systems and patient care results across the continuum of care.
  • Develop and monitor budgets and resource allocations to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care/service.
  • Determine the appropriate staff mix for the department and develop processes to screen, interview, hire, train, and maintain the competency of all department staff.
  • Provide ongoing staff development to enhance patient care and services.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies and procedures that support the organization's goals and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Physician Team Leader and Department Chief to develop the level of patient services and the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Manage and resolve human resource, labor relations, employee and department safety, and risk management issues.

Requirements:
  • Minimum two (2) years of project management, program management, or supervisory experience OR one (1) year of project management, program management, or supervisory experience with a Master's degree.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Knowledge of The Joint Commission and other local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BLS preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.
