UPMC is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing patients with respiratory disorders, conducting diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans. You will work under the direction of doctors and treat a range of patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and diagnose patients with respiratory conditions, including interviewing patients to gather relevant medical history and conducting diagnostic tests.
- Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and nurses.
- Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
- Set up and operate medical devices, including mechanical ventilators, and connect patients who require ventilator support.
- Monitor patient responses to therapy and provide emergency care during code situations.
- Maintain accurate patient charts and collaborate with healthcare team members.
- Graduate of a Co ARC approved Respiratory program or temporary license with approval from the Human Resources department.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRTT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required prior to expiration of temporary practice permit.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
- Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance required.
