Respiratory Therapist

As a Respiratory Therapist at Highmark Health, you will play a vital role in providing assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction. Your expertise will be essential in administering therapeutic respiratory care procedures, completing documentation, and performing diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies.
Complete documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness, such as charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education.
Perform diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies.
Provide instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed.
Qualifications:
Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, CRT, or TPP.
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required prior to the expiration of the TPP.
CPR – American Heart Association.
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications:
Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care RRT, or Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT).
1 year experience in a hospital setting.
