Job Description

As a Senior Geospatial AI/ML Engineer, you will be part of our WherobotsDB & WherobotsAI team, collaborating with seasoned AI/ML practitioners and strategists to help design and build our ML and AI platform. Your primary focus will be on defining, implementing, and maintaining the systems and data architecture for our platform, ensuring seamless integration of ML capabilities in WherobotsDB and Wherobots Cloud.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Inform our product roadmap and development around the integration of ML capabilities in WherobotsDB and Wherobots Cloud
  • Build technology around distributed geospatial model training and inference, integrated into our technology and products
  • Build, train, and fine-tune geospatial foundation models
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, identify technical solutions, and deliver high-quality software
  • Make open-source contributions to Apache Sedona, PyTorch, and other open-source software packages where necessary
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in geospatial and AI/ML technologies
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong technical background, including 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing geospatial AI/ML pipelines and systems
  • Proficiency in Python and AI/ML frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow required
  • A proven track record of building high-quality and maintainable software, and delivering AI/ML-enabled products and features to enterprise customers in production
  • Solid understanding of cloud-deployed software architectures, distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record of working effectively in a hybrid or distributed team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
