Wound Nurse Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Wound Nurse to join our team at the Institute for Successful Aging. As a Wound Nurse, you will be responsible for coordinating wound care for our residents, utilizing your expertise in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care through standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide case management for consulting patients, providing specific assessment according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers, wound care physicians, nursing leaders, and floor staff to ensure effective wound care.
  • Participate in the development and establishment of a goal-oriented skin care protocol.
  • Implement the skin care protocol and orders within 24 hours or next business day after admission.
  • Order entry of initial LECOM Wound Clinic orders and as needed upon changes in skin care.
  • Review, document, and report significant changes as well as quarterly and annual care plans.
Requirements:
  • Must be licensed as a Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • Wound care certification or ostomy certification is preferred but not necessary.
  • 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must maintain current certifications in CPR and First Aid.

Tuition Reimbursement:
