Culinary Expert

At Red Letter Hospitality, we are seeking a skilled Culinary Expert to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes for our guests to enjoy.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences through good quality food. With previous experience as a cook, you will be able to manage multiple priorities and contribute to a friendly and productive team atmosphere.

Responsibilities:
  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
  • Temperature Control: Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
  • Cooking and Presentation: Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience, and turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.
Qualifications:
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience as a restaurant cook preferred.
  • Certification: ServeSafe or Food Handlers certification (or must be willing to attain).
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 30+ lbs and work standing for 8+ hours.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around $60,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
