THE WORK:

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will spearhead the development, enhancement, and maintenance of a suite of cyber test tools. These tools support network design and configuration, system configuration, application configuration, application functionality verification, and may also support automated cyber-attacks. These tools are essential for designing and executing rigorous cyber testing and training events. You will manage all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle, ensuring our software solutions robustly meet the demanding requirements of government cyber testing.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the entire software development process
• Maintain and manage multiple software baselines
• Track and report on metrics to assess progress and health of projects

The Software Engineer should have a background in automation, system administration, software development including scripting, and basic understanding of other various computing and cyber topics.

Responsibilities include:
• Own the software development process
• Maintain multiple baselines
• Develop and maintain productivity/estimating data
• Coordinate software enhancement needs with Cyber Event Designers and Leads
• Write/modify code that will support cyber test/training events
• Support of technical and programmatic reviews
• Architectural and software design review and input

This position may be eligible to receive up to a $20,000 sign-on bonus
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree with a focus in computer science, or a focus in computer and information sciences, information technology, management information systems, or a related discipline with corresponding experience and demonstrated mastery of relevant computer science and software engineering topics.
• Prior usage or knowledge of infrastructure configuration automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt, etc.
• 3+ years of experience with software development and software engineering (can overlap with other experience).
• Expert knowledge of one of the following: PowerShell, bash scripting, python scripting, or C/C++ development.
• Experience scripting or automated tasks using Python
Desired Skills:
• Expert knowledge of: software development to include agile software development practices; programming languages; operating systems; networks; enterprise and consumer IT concepts, architectures, and systems (computer, network, storage)
• Experience developing or modifying web applications using web development frameworks
• Prior usage or knowledge of one or more continuous integration tools such as Jenkins
• Prior usage or knowledge of one or more of the following MySQL, MariaDB, mongoDB, Postgres SQL, or no SQL
• Knowledge of Networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, TFTP, DNS, FTP.
• 2+ years of experience with cyber testing or training to include experience with defensive and offensive cyber tools and TTPs or relevant experience (can overlap with other experience)
• 2+ years of systems administration experience (can overlap with other experience)
• Experience with system administration in Windows and Linux environments
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Non- standard 40 hour work week as assigned by leader
