Your involvement will span every phase of the Apple product development lifecycle, from ideation to production, steering both specific product features and comprehensive system validation processes.
You will collaborate with exceptional teams across various locations who share a genuine enthusiasm for engineering and delivering features that uphold robust privacy and security standards for users.
Our team and partners encompass a wide range of expertise, from low-level operating systems to OS services, data center operations, network protocols, and APIs.
You will lead a dedicated team across this spectrum, ensuring the delivery of high-quality results within tight deadlines through close interdisciplinary collaboration.
We seek individuals who are highly motivated, driven, and who possess a personal investment in the products and services we oversee. You should be adept at managing multiple priorities and navigating uncertainty.
Exceptional communication skills are essential, along with the ability to foster positive relationships with both your team and partner teams.
- 5+ years of demonstrated excellence in system software development or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience leading a development team
- Proficiency in C, C++, Objective-C, or Swift
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with secure and privacy-focused designs
- Passion for product stewardship and a proven track record in product development
- Able to coordinate efforts across multiple teams
- Experience in building operating systems, kernels, drivers, daemons, and frameworks
- Knowledge of designing, implementing, and managing large-scale distributed systems and networking protocols
- Familiarity with Networking Protocols, Security, Privacy, and Cryptography (including TLS, cryptographic chain of trust, data encryption at rest, Key Transparency, and end-to-end encryption)
At Apple, base salary is one component of our comprehensive compensation package and is determined within a specified range. This allows for growth as you advance in your role.
The base salary range for this position is between $181,000 and $313,000, with your specific salary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs, including eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and discounted stock purchases through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
