Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive risk-reduction services to adolescents through various grant initiatives.
- Provide evidence-based and age-appropriate sexual and reproductive health education in both individual and group formats, alongside targeted rapid HIV and STI testing for youth aged 13-19.
- Implement two evidence-informed curricula for adolescents aged 11-21 in diverse settings such as clinics, schools, or community environments.
- Disseminate risk reduction tools and offer accurate, non-judgmental information regarding all available contraceptive methods.
- Facilitate culturally sensitive referrals for adolescents seeking additional medical, social, or mental health services.
- Participate in health fairs, community outreach events, and other relevant activities to promote the program.
- Oversee the Youth Advisory Board for the program.
- Ensure compliance with documentation and reporting requirements as stipulated by funding organizations and regulatory authorities.
- Accurately enter all necessary documentation into the designated database in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to maintain a patient-centered approach aimed at enhancing health outcomes.
- Fulfill continuing education requirements as mandated by program regulations.
Qualifications:
- Healthcare Knowledge: Basic understanding of healthcare services and medical terminology.
- Presentation Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in front of diverse audiences.
- Technical Proficiency: Competence in basic data entry and adaptability to new software or databases.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to engage courteously with individuals from various backgrounds.
- Cultural Awareness: Understanding of diverse worldviews and cultural knowledge of key populations served.
- Team Collaboration: A cooperative spirit to foster positive working relationships with colleagues and the public.
- Certification: Medical Assistant or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant certification is required.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various community sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- LPN Credentials: Licensed Practical Nurse credentials are preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of experience working with adolescents in a healthcare or similar environment.
- Knowledge Base: Familiarity with sexually transmitted infections and comfort in educating groups on related topics.
- Community Insight: Awareness of community resources in the surrounding areas.
- Bilingual Skills: Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
