Position Overview

Certified Nursing Assistant - Perioperative Support

Shift Schedule: 12 Hour Shifts

Compensation: $2,500 Hiring Bonus for eligible external candidates in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.

Benefits: Full-time caregivers earning less than $60,000 annually may qualify for a $0 premium medical plan, including dependent coverage.

This role is crucial for the effective and timely transport of patients as directed, along with various responsibilities assigned by the supervising manager or designated personnel. The Nursing Assistant plays a vital role in assisting with patient care and departmental activities under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate under the supervision of the RN to deliver care and services to patients and their families, following delegated tasks.
  • Facilitate the transfer of patients to and from transport vehicles (wheelchair, stretcher, bed) and between care areas.
  • Conduct transport duties with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring timely assistance.
  • Document and communicate all daily activities and care provided to patients accurately and promptly.
  • Assist with patient care as directed by the RN, including tasks such as bed maintenance, vital signs monitoring, and personal care.
  • Respect patient privacy and confidentiality, adhering to established policies.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to meet patient care objectives and seek assistance when necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments regarding patient care and transport logistics.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of patient transport equipment and areas.
  • Participate in the orientation and training of new staff members.
  • Engage in ongoing educational activities and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Washington Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Experience in acute care or skilled nursing settings preferred, with specific waivers applicable for customer service experience in healthcare.
