**Position Overview:**
The Marina Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and executing the daily on-site marina activities related to boat handling, fueling operations, rental services, and retail management. This role requires a proactive leader focused on safety and the ability to enhance team performance, productivity, and efficiency through the implementation of effective operational strategies. The Supervisor will also ensure the safety and upkeep of dock facilities and other lakeside amenities accessible to both staff and patrons. The primary goal is to maintain a well-equipped and trained dockhand team that meets our high standards of customer service and adapts to the seasonal demands of the marina. The Supervisor will collaborate closely with the General Manager and other leaders to fulfill marina and interdepartmental objectives._
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the marina to ensure seamless functionality.
- Recruit, train, and mentor dockhands and logistics personnel to carry out daily tasks related to storage, fueling, rentals, and retail operations.
- Uphold and promote a high standard of customer service that is reflected throughout the team.
- Conduct regular inspections of docks to ensure safety, cleanliness, and operational effectiveness.
- Assess the efficiency of marina processes in line with organizational goals and implement improvements as necessary.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to make informed decisions regarding operational strategies, set objectives, and address recurring issues or inefficiencies.
- Work with other departments to facilitate a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Participate in monthly health and safety meetings, addressing action items that impact customer and employee safety.
- Supervise staff to ensure exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and safety; provide constructive feedback.
- Manage customer support processes to enhance overall satisfaction.
- Perform dockhand and logistics duties as needed based on staffing levels.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Represent the company at boat shows and special events, promoting our vision of exceptional customer experiences.
- Implement spill prevention measures and be knowledgeable about response procedures for any spills.
- Undertake any additional tasks as required.
**Qualifications:**
- High School Diploma or GED (Associate Degree, B.A. or B.S. preferred)
- Previous experience or knowledge in the industry is preferred
- Proven leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong customer service orientation
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and work safely around water or on ladders
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Availability to work weekends
