Position Overview:

The Senior Security Officer plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and secure environment for all individuals on campus. This position involves proactive patrolling of facilities and responding to various service requests. A strong emphasis on crime prevention and a guest-oriented approach is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that sensitive security areas are adequately protected.
  • Monitor surveillance systems and utilize footage for investigative purposes.
  • Identify and report any security or safety concerns.
  • Notify relevant parties of any equipment alarms.
  • Verify the functionality of access control systems and entry points.
  • Conduct patrols to enforce organizational policies.
  • Investigate incidents of suspected criminal activity and prepare detailed reports.
  • Respond to requests for medical assistance and other urgent situations.
  • Assist law enforcement during ongoing investigations and critical incidents.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of security experience in a healthcare environment is necessary.
  • Experience in law enforcement or military service may be considered as equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license is required upon employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Seven years of law enforcement experience.
  • Experience in a supervisory role within security or law enforcement.
  • Background in investigative procedures.
  • Familiarity with video surveillance technology.
  • Proficiency in report writing software.
  • IAHSS Basic and Advanced Certifications.
