Position: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
The Citadel of Bourbonnais is in search of a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide exceptional care to our residents. As a CNA, you will deliver essential nursing services while adhering to specific protocols and programs related to resident care under the guidance of the assigned Charge Nurse (LPN or RN).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized attention to residents, fostering their ability to achieve and maintain optimal physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
- Ensure a calm and pleasant living environment for all residents.
- Participate in the resident care planning process by supplying the Charge Nurse or care planning staff with relevant information and observations regarding residents' needs and preferences.
- Assist residents with daily living activities, which may include feeding, grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, incontinence care, toileting, colostomy care, use of prosthetic devices, transferring, ambulation, and range of motion exercises, as well as addressing other individual care requirements.
- Execute various tasks assigned by the Charge Nurse, such as monitoring vital signs, weighing residents, applying topical treatments, and collecting specimens.
· Utilize proper body mechanics or lifting devices to safely lift, move, and transport residents, preventing accidents.
- Monitor residents for any changes in condition or behavior and promptly report these observations to the appropriate licensed nursing personnel.
- Respond to residents' call lights in a timely and courteous manner.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and successful passing of the competency examination.
- Current CPR certification is required.
- Experience in a long-term care setting is preferred.
- Possess a compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
