Apartment Maintenance Technician Trainee Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time Apartment Maintenance Technician Trainee to assist in the maintenance of our apartment portfolio in Madison and Sun Prairie, WI.

The successful candidate will perform routine maintenance duties, including carpentry, painting, equipment and facility repairs, and grounds/custodial duties as needed.

This is a full-time position requiring regular attendance, a valid driver's license, and a reliable vehicle for frequent travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to maintenance requests and execute repairs in a timely manner.
  • Perform inspections of apartments, buildings, and common areas, reporting and performing repairs as necessary.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, keeping the maintenance room organized.
  • Perform light electrical repairs and assist with custodial work as needed.
  • Assist in preparing vacant apartments for new residents, including carpentry, drywall, painting, and other necessary repairs.
  • Perform snow removal and other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
