Culinary Educator for Youth Development

Job Summary
South Asian Youth Action (SAYA) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Culinary Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of academic preparation in culinary arts or equivalent training, along with experience in providing individualized and group instruction to meet the needs of youth with various skill levels.
As a Culinary Educator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cooking classes that promote healthy eating habits and cultural exchange. You will work closely with our Program Director to ensure the success of our middle school after-school program, which serves over [insert number] students in Queens and Brooklyn.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging cooking classes that promote healthy eating habits and cultural exchange
- Provide individualized and group instruction to meet the needs of youth with various skill levels
- Work closely with the Program Director to ensure the success of our middle school after-school program
- Foster positive relationships with youth, teachers, and parents
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in teaching or cooking classes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
- Culinary certifications or relevant experience highly preferred
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary range of $30-$45 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is an in-person position for the school year from September through June, with potential rehire for summer and the following year. SAYA provides a supportive work environment, opportunities for professional growth, and a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
