Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to residents at MediLodge of Richmond. As a skilled nursing professional, you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing nursing care plans, supervising and guiding clinical staff members, and ensuring the overall well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Document resident conditions and nursing needs accurately and thoroughly.
  • Implement physicians' orders promptly and accurately.
  • Assign nursing care to team members based on resident needs and staff capabilities.
  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate junior staff members and CNAs.
  • Administer medications and perform treatments for assigned residents, documenting all treatment as required.
  • Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
  • Ensure efficient use of supplies and maintain equipment in a safe and clean manner.
  • Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
  • Coordinate nursing care for residents undergoing therapy or procedures.
  • Interview applicants and recommend hires, participate in counseling, disciplinary action, and termination of staff as permitted by state practice act.
  • Supervise nursing unit, including scheduling and directing nursing staff as permitted by state practice act.
  • Ensure inventory and supplies are maintained on the unit and communicate needs for housekeeping, maintenance, or dietary assistance.
Requirements
  • Graduate of accredited LPN/LVN school of nursing.
  • Valid LPN/LVN license in the state employed.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • One year experience in nursing preferred.
