We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Specialist to join our team at the City of Garland, Texas. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in promoting a culture of safety and risk management across our departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Safety Initiatives: Cultivate and implement safety initiatives to reduce accidents and injuries, and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Investigate Accidents and Incidents: Conduct thorough investigations of accidents and incidents, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and Deliver Training Programs: Design and deliver training programs to employees on safety procedures, policies, and best practices.
  • Monitor and Analyze Safety Data: Collect, analyze, and interpret safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with department heads, employees, and external partners to promote safety and risk management practices.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Safety Administration, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in safety administration or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of safety practices, policies, and procedures; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to analyze data and make recommendations for improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or OSHA General Industry and Construction Certification.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of safety practices, policies, and procedures; comprehensive knowledge of accident investigation and analysis.
