Requirements
  • Active RN License
  • Degree from accredited nursing program
  • BLS & ACLS Certifications
  • Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Bone Marrow Transplant setting

About the Role

Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Nurses manage patients either preparing for or recovering from a bone marrow transplant that are highly immunosuppressed and very susceptible to infection.

  • Performs nursing assessment and lab evaluation on all treatment patients.
  • Reviews patient labs to determine if values are within accepted parameters for treatment.
  • Possesses an in-depth knowledge of oncology and/or blood and marrow transplantation, chemotherapy and biotherapy treatment regimens, medications and blood products used to care for these complex patients.
  • Elicits pertinent information concerning treatment and any treatment-related side effects.
