Position Summary: Port City Ambulance Service LLC is in search of a committed and empathetic Mobility Transportation Specialist. The primary duty of this role is to deliver safe and dependable transport for individuals facing mobility challenges, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the journey. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, assisting passengers during boarding and disembarking, and maintaining the vehicle in a clean and operational state.

Key Responsibilities:

Safe Transport:

  • Operate a wheelchair-accessible vehicle safely and responsibly, following all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers with mobility limitations during transit.

Passenger Support:

  • Assist passengers in boarding and exiting the vehicle, with particular attention to those with limited mobility.
  • Secure wheelchairs and other mobility devices appropriately to guarantee a safe and pleasant ride.

Effective Communication:

  • Engage with passengers to address any specific needs or concerns they may have.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with passengers and team members.

Route Management:

  • Acquaint yourself with routes and schedules to ensure timely arrivals at designated pick-up and drop-off points.
  • Plan routes effectively to reduce travel time for passengers.

Vehicle Upkeep:

  • Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
  • Report any maintenance issues promptly and ensure the vehicle is kept clean and in good working order.

Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and any incidents that may occur during transit.
  • Complete necessary documentation for each trip, including passenger details and special requests.

Customer Care:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by being attentive, courteous, and responsive to passengers' needs.
  • Address passenger inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly.

Compliance with Policies:

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding transportation services.
  • Follow accessibility and safety standards for transporting individuals with disabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Current DOT physical or ability to obtain one.
  • Knowledge of wheelchair securement procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Physical capability to assist passengers with mobility challenges.
  • Flexibility with working hours, as some shifts may include evenings and weekends.
