Job Overview

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in the delivery of primary healthcare services in a team-based patient-centered medical home environment. This role requires strong clinical and administrative skills to support medical practitioners, assist with medical procedures, and provide excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medication injections and vaccines as per medical protocols.
  • Conduct comprehensive screenings and assist with daily patient interactions as needed.
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment, including taking vital signs and medical histories.
  • Follow standing order procedures and maintain patient files, records, and other information.
  • Perform routine blood drawing procedures and maintain inventory of supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations through quality control procedures.
Requirements
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • One year of progressively responsible work experience in a medical setting.
  • EMR experience and excellent interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
Work Environment

The Medical Assistant will work in a normal office environment with frequent contact with staff, patients, and the public. The noise level is moderate, and the work may be stressful at times. The incumbent must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.

This position may involve working at various community clinics and may require extended hours as needed.
