Job Title: Emergency Department Physician Assistant

At Healthcare Partners Investments, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Department team.

Job Summary:

The Emergency Department Physician Assistant will provide direct patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures of the Hospital. In collaboration with the patient, the patient's family, and other members of the healthcare team, the PA will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and coordinate treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide care to patients in the emergency room according to policy and procedure and care standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of medications, equipment, expected patient outcomes, and anticipated complications.
  • Coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary team.
  • Act to protect and advance patient's best interest.
  • Satisfactorily demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description as well as continually demonstrate competency in performing the job duties.
Requirements:
  • Current Physician Assistant Licensure with the State of Oklahoma required.
  • Previous experience required.
  • Minimum of one year experience in Emergency or ICU preferred.
  • BLS Healthcare required within 30 days of hire. ACLS and PALS required within 120 days of hire.
Physical Demands:
  • Strength (Lift, Carry, Push, Pull): Heavy (exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 lbs to 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects)
  • Standing/Walking: Constantly; activity exists 2/3 or more of the time.
  • Keyboard/Dexterity: Occasionally; activity exists up to 1/3 of the time
  • Talking (Must be able to effectively communicate verbally): Yes
  • Seeing: Yes
  • Hearing: Yes
  • Color Acuity: Yes
Environmental Conditions:

High exposure to hazardous risks including potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment and chemicals. Must follow standard precautions. May be required to work weekends or flex schedules. Travel may be required. Exposed to weather conditions during travel. Good mental and physical health to work for long periods of time in a highly stressful atmosphere is required.
