Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clinical Research Coordinator Assistant to join our team at UC San Diego. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing research visits for a cohort of participants, as well as developing and distributing visit-related materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen participants for eligibility and explain research procedures accurately
  • Meticulously document all facets of communication and process achievement using shared database and calendar systems
  • Develop and distribute visit-related materials, including participant information sheets and consent forms
  • Participate in the acquisition of medical records and document management
  • Direct communication with program participants, their care partners, and multidisciplinary team of research staff and faculty
  • Direct communication with assigned physicians and disease groups, including attending weekly meetings
  • Process reimbursements to program participants and arrange transportation services
Requirements
  • Experience scheduling complex research visit components
  • Knowledge of biology, microbiology, social sciences, clinical sciences, and database, word processing, and spreadsheet applications
  • Experience performing clinical research duties in a clinical research environment
  • Experience using statistical software applications and interpreting medical charts
  • Knowledge of National Institute of Health (NIH), Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Human Resource Protection Program (HRPP), IATA Shipping of Blood Specimens, and Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Experience with clinical trials participant or study subject recruitment and coordinating study startup activities
  • Experience providing in-service training to volunteers on protocols, processes, and procedures
  • Experience completing clinical trials case report forms via hard copy and online
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred
Working Conditions

This position is located in La Jolla and requires a background check and medical screening. The successful candidate will be required to complete a Mandated Reporter training program and submit required reports to the UC San Diego Police Department.

Pay and Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is $33.26, with paid holidays and vacation/sick leave, as well as full-medical insurance available.
