We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team at Dartmouth Health. As a key member of our eye care clinic, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient flow and navigation through the clinic, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients.
- Perform comprehensive intake examinations, including collection and documentation of patient health and eye history, visual acuity testing, and administration of pharmacologic agents.
- Prepare patients, rooms, supplies, and equipment for exams and procedures, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
- Inventory, clean, and maintain ophthalmic supplies, equipment, and exam rooms, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies and procedures for technical and clinical activities, promoting a culture of excellence and quality.
- Assist fellow staff and physicians with daily tasks, providing support and collaboration as needed.
- Maintain current certification status as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) and complete training for advanced skills as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Current International Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (iJCAHPO) certification as Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) required.
- Basic Life Support certification required within 60 days.
