Job Overview

Environmental Grease Management is a dedicated service provider specializing in Kitchen Hood and Exhaust Fire Prevention Cleaning, catering to various commercial kitchens, including fast food outlets, dining establishments, healthcare facilities, hospitality venues, and senior living communities.

We take pride in our commitment to excellence and are currently in search of a skilled Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Specialist in the San Diego region to join our growing team.

Position Summary

The role involves the thorough power washing of kitchen exhaust systems, which includes hoods, ductwork, filters, and exhaust fans. Responsibilities also encompass the setup and dismantling of job sites and equipment, ensuring all stainless steel hoods are cleaned to a high standard, and managing the use of wet/dry vacuums, high-pressure hoses, pre-sprayers, ladders, and protective sheeting.

Successful candidates will work independently on various projects while maintaining equipment and reporting any mechanical issues or concerns encountered on-site.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in mechanical or electrical work, including safety protocols.
  • Must demonstrate responsibility, integrity, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members while following instructions.
  • A valid Driver's License with a clean driving record is essential.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
  • Dependability and punctuality are crucial, along with the capability to comprehend safety plans and procedures.
  • Flexibility to work various hours, including nights and weekends, is required.
  • Willingness to travel overnight on occasion.
  • Ability to work in diverse weather conditions.
  • Capability to complete tasks from initiation to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and receive guidance from team members.
  • A desire to learn rapidly and thrive in a dynamic work environment.

  • Experience with iPhone and iPad.
  • Mechanical knowledge.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to climb ladders to access rooftops of commercial buildings.
  • Ability to squat, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs. over distances of at least 100 feet.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods, up to 10 hours.
  • Attention to detail and efficiency in completing tasks are essential.

Compensation:

Signing bonuses are available based on performance: $500 at 90 days, $500 at 120 days, totaling $1000.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $17.00 to $20.00 per hour, paid bi-weekly, plus performance bonuses.

Work Schedule:

  • Shifts ranging from 3 to 8 hours.
  • Work on holidays may be required.
  • Monday to Friday shifts.
  • Night shifts are part of the schedule.
  • Overtime may be available.

Experience Required:

  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in Kitchen Hood Cleaning.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Location Preference:

  • San Diego, CA is preferred.

Licensing:

  • Driver's License is required.

Language Requirements:

  • English and Spanish are preferred.

Work Authorization:

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Shifts:

  • Overnight shifts are required.

Work Environment:

  • Work is conducted at a single location.

Setting:

  • Food service and industrial environments.

Pay Frequency:

  • Bi-weekly payment schedule.
