Job Title: Production Services Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Services Engineer to join our team at Bayside Solutions, Inc. in Cupertino, CA. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in supporting multiple projects and features across our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the ingestion/encoding pipeline for all of our Services Media, emphasizing sports and original content.
  • Conduct technical analysis of incidents, performing root cause investigation and review with technical teams.
  • Troubleshoot complex partner and vendor integrations.
  • Perform after-hours and weekend monitoring, triage, and escalation management of various media assets.

Requirements:

  • BS in computer science, engineering, or 4 years of related experience.
  • Able to fulfill after-hours and weekend support.
  • Experience diagnosing technical issues.
  • Experience with SQL and XML.
  • Knowledge of process management, metrics, and KPIs.
  • Familiar with digital media files and content.
  • Familiar with video playback technologies, Digital Rights Management, HTTP Live Streaming, video acquisition and distribution, monitoring and reporting.
  • Knowledge of video ecosystem and delivery of large-scale VOD and EST video.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to understand technical concepts and communicate with non-technical customers.
  • Self-motivated, constantly looking for areas of improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with broadcast transport technologies.
  • Familiar with livestream ad-insertion technologies.
  • Familiar with live broadcast environments and operational workflow for high-profile event productions.
  • Comfortable with command line tools (chmod, curl, grep, ssh, scp).
  • Experience working with observability tools (Grafana, Kibana, DataDog).
  • Experience with Java programming, scripting.
