Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking a passionate and skilled Certified Veterinary Technician specializing in Anesthesia to join our dedicated team.
Work Schedule:
Tuesday and Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM, with weekends as required.
Compensation:
Compensation is commensurate with experience and skill level, starting at $25/hour for Credentialed Technicians, with experienced Credentialed Technicians earning between $28 and $32/hour.
Position Summary:
The primary role of the Certified Veterinary Technician is to provide essential support to the Specialist in all diagnostic, treatment, and procedural activities, ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Specialist with incoming consultations and procedures, adhering to "Fear Free" standards and protocols.
2. Efficiently manage the daily operating room schedule.
3. Review patient histories, lab results, and radiographs to identify concerns and determine ASA status.
4. Prepare anesthetic and surgical drug plans, ensuring all necessary diagnostics are completed.
5. Induce anesthesia, manage anesthetic planes, and maintain patient homeostasis.
6. Proactively prevent and address anesthetic or homeostatic issues as they arise.
7. Prepare for and manage potential complications specific to each surgical case.
8. Educate clients on nutrition, home care, and post-operative care as directed by the Specialist.
9. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the specialty department and other hospital areas.
10. Train less experienced staff on proper procedures and technical skills.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary setting.
- Ability to perform all essential responsibilities of a Technician Assistant.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and sanitation practices.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and equipment.
- Competence in calculating dosages and injections.
- Ability to remain calm and react appropriately in emergency situations.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree and/or Technician Certification preferred.
