About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Support Specialist to join our team at BioLife Plasma Services. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors. Your primary responsibility will be to determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, and review laboratory test results. You will also be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that our donors have a positive experience at our plasma collection center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, medical history interview, and physical examination.
  • Manage donor adverse events, including evaluating reactions and referring to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
  • Review laboratory test results, including Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE), and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that donors have a positive experience at our plasma collection center.
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees, as applicable.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy.
  • Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
