Job Summary

The Agricultural Research Service is seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team in Wenatchee, WA. As a Research Scientist, you will conduct studies in support of an ongoing research program focused on engineering soil and plant-associated microbiomes to directly benefit fruit tree production systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct laboratory, analytical, and field protocols
  • Develop methods for specific culture-dependent and molecular-based research approaches
  • Participate in the collection of data and its preparation for scientific technical reports and manuscripts
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology or Microbiology or a related field
  • Strong background knowledge of microbiome research and host-microbe interactions
  • Experience in the purification, handling, and quantification of nucleic acids
