Career Counselor II

As a Career Counselor II at the University of Texas at Austin, you will play a vital role in supporting the career development of undergraduate students. Your expertise will help students navigate their educational plans and career decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group career counseling to students, focusing on complex career exploration situations.
  • Identify and address financial and social barriers to early career development, offering support and resources to students.
  • Assess, select, and interpret career assessments in individual and group settings.
  • Deliver workshops and presentations to student groups, covering topics such as career and well-being, career exploration, and Life Design.
  • Represent the University Career Engagement team at events, including orientation sessions and industry-focused career programming.
  • Collaborate with the employer engagement team to foster student-employer connections and create career communities related to helping professions.
  • Maintain career counseling competence and knowledge through literature consultation, conference attendance, and research activities.
