The Environmental Health and Safety Manager is a critical role at Metallics, Inc. responsible for implementing and managing environmental, health, and safety programs. This position requires a strong understanding of regulatory compliance and the ability to develop and recommend effective EHS-related programs and activities.
Key Responsibilities- Program Implementation and Management: Develop, implement, and manage environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with company and government regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Oversee the wastewater treatment facility, ensure proper licenses, certifications, and permits are obtained and maintained, and complete and maintain regulatory compliance documentation.
- Training and Education: Assist, train, and educate plant management and employees on good environmental, health, and safety practices.
- Risk Management: Identify EHS problems, secure relevant information, identify possible causes, and suggest possible solutions.
- Communication: Develop and maintain a strong and reputable relationship with all employees, and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Decision Making: Make timely and effective decisions to ensure the success of EHS programs.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Chemistry, or related field.
- Experience: At least four years of work experience in Environmental, Health & Safety or similar field.
- Skills: Ability to work with OSHA, DNR, EPA, and other regulatory agencies, proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and various environmental software programs.
The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will work in an office setting but will be required to spend time each day inside a plant environment which will expose this position to moving mechanical parts, vehicular traffic, ink and chemical exposure, and loud noise levels.
