We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join our Traffic Infrastructure team. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for developing the vision, identifying high-impact early projects, building consensus across the infrastructure org for your proposed architectural evolutions, and delivering your projects.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the hands-on technical leader of a 3-person (plus plans to grow) Traffic Infrastructure software team.
  • Develop the vision and identify high-impact early projects.
  • Build consensus across the infrastructure org for your proposed architectural evolutions.
  • Deliver your projects.
  • Support the other engineers on your team and ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Improve Airtable's resilience to hardware issues, traffic spikes, and inefficient business logic.
  • Evolove key foundations of Airtable's infrastructure like RPC, service mesh, interprocess authentication, load balancing, route definitions, and failure recovery.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in Software Engineering.
  • 2+ years as the technical lead of a multi-person project or team.
  • Experience with service mesh, traffic engineering, and/or cloud networking preferred.
  • Experience working on high-scale, low-latency systems with better than 99.9% uptime SLOs preferred.
  • Deep experience with AWS and/or k8s preferred.
