About the Job

This is a temporary position with the City of Alexandria, VA, in the Transportation and Environmental Services department. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in related work or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rake leaves, work with leaf trucks, and pick up bio-degradable bags.
  • Operate small hand tools such as drills, saws, blowers, and weed eaters.
  • Perform related work as required.
Requirements
  • Ability to read and write and carry out simple written instructions.
  • Ability to collect refuse from the back of a refuse truck.
  • Ability to use common hand tools.
  • Ability to follow oral instructions.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor daily and work in all kinds of weather conditions.
