Job Summary:
UMass Chan Medical School is seeking a highly skilled Sr Cloud Engineer to design and implement redundant and resilient cloud native and hybrid cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with Azure and/or AWS in multi-region, multi-account environments and strong understanding of cloud network engineering concepts.
About the Role:
- Design and implement cloud and hybrid cloud solutions in alignment with the Medical School's strategic and tactical business plans.
- Make design recommendations on cloud native, hybrid cloud and cloud integration solutions incorporating industry best practices.
- Contribute to cloud standards development, incorporating prior knowledge and industry best practices.
- Automate infrastructure management and maintenance with a focus on cloud-based solutions utilizing Infrastructure as Code best practices.
About the Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT related field or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years of IT technology experience with at least 3+ years designing, implementing cloud solutions, and providing operational support for cloud services.
- Strong understanding of cloud network engineering concepts and experience with cloud templating solutions (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, Resource Manager Templates).
- Experience with automation framework and scripting languages, such as Python, Ansible, and PowerShell, for cloud build and deployment.
