Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Bulk Foods Clerk to join our team at WinCo Foods. As a key member of our grocery department, you will be responsible for maintaining the condition of the bulk food department, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring product quality and selection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain the bulk food department according to company standards, including bulk food bins and machines.
  • Provide friendly and courteous customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Ensure product quality and selection by conducting visual inspections and reading product labels.
  • Perform other related work, including breaking down freight, placing product in barrels and dispensers, and maintaining cleanliness and eye-appeal of the work area.
  • Work varied shifts between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm in a 24/7 operation, including night, weekends, and holidays.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to receive orders, upsell, and perform customer relation skills.
  • Reach, lift, stack, and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 20-30 lbs. frequently, and 30-50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Push and pull handtrucks, carts, and pallet jacks containing product of substantial weight.
  • Stand, walk, and move rapidly for long periods of time.
  • Bend, stoop, twist, climb ladders, and turn frequently.
  • Perform safe and quick movements and operate related equipment with manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Perform basic math and exhibit manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Exhibit interpersonal skills through oral and written communication.
  • Work with potential hazards with respect to equipment, tools, and work aides.
  • Use cleaning chemicals and handle related food products.
  • Wear hats, hairnets, gloves, and other personal protective equipment as required.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.

Requirements

  • Food Handlers Certification (per state laws).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude.
