Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our team at SHMG Family Medicine Edgewater. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a critical role in managing the clinic patient schedule, assisting with Health Information Management, and ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-register, register, and check out patients according to procedure.
  • Verify written physician orders for accuracy as compared to the scheduled procedure.
  • Verify insurance benefits to determine eligibility and complete MSPQ as needed.
  • Collect co-pays, co-insurance, and payments on past due accounts.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, or advanced degree, or a minimum of five (5) years' experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Previous clerk, office, and/or administrative assistant work preferred.
  • Previous medical experience in a specialty clinic preferred.
